St. Mark’s “Team Adam” Hikers Raised Nearly $8,000 for Bergen Family Promise

Team ADAM/St. Mark’s Godspeed raised nearly $8,000 in the annual “Hike for Hope” supporting Family Promise of Bergen County grossing the most donations of any team and helping the event exceed its $35,000 overall goal.

Family Promise provides temporary shelter and personalized support to working families who are experiencing homelessness. Our efforts continue in memory of Adam Rosignolo, a young man from our parish who championed our team for a number of years. We were glad to continue to partner with his parents Beverly and Steve Rosignolo to keep this tradition going.

This year’s event is called the Virtual Hike for Hope. Rather than a big gathering, participants were encouraged to get outdoors and do their own three-mile trek, raising funds before the “parking lot party” on April 30th. Ted Mather rode his bike from Teaneck to Piermont, NY, near the Tappan Zee Bridge. Kerry Mather logged her miles at Overpeck Park. Team organizer Mari Karner had faithful companion Sam leading the way, and Christian Paolino and friends trekked to the top of the Stairway to Heaven Trail in Sussex County, encountering some late spring snow at the top! Other hikers included Teresa Austin, Margot Fisher, Kate Norris and the Rev. Joan Conley.

Thank you to all who hiked or contributed to this worthy cause.
