Requiescat in Pace: James N. Hooper

The sympathy of the parish is extended to the family and friends of James Hooper, a 40-year member of our congregation who entered into greater glory on June 5th. He was 79.

An engineer by trade, James was chair of our building and grounds committee and spearheaded major efforts to alleviate drainage problems at St. Mark’s, along with improving access to our buildings by regrading exterior walkways. His ebullient spirit was a mainstay in the fabric of parish life, including the simple mantra, “God is good!”

You may read James’ full obituary here.

Visitation will take place Monday, June 15th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Volk-Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Road.

James’ funeral service will take place at St. Mark’s on Tuesday, June 16th at a.m. and will be livestreamed on Zoom at https://stmarksteaneck.org/jameshooper.
