All Saints Day Weekend at St. Mark’s

All Saints Day Weekend at St. Mark’s
Memory Table

On Saturday, November 1st, our choir gave us an ENCORE! This musical revue featured music from the various productions we have staged over the years, to raise money for various causes or just to have fun. Singing for the Drain and Too Darn Hot helped us fund capital projects at the church including air-conditioning and addressing water issues in our basement. During the COVID-19 pandemic we took the show online with the online variety show Saturday Night Semi-Live and our Family Christmas Spectacular.

After the show, a pasta dinner was waiting in Carroll Hall, with Ernie providing some atmosphere.
On Sunday we remembered all those we have loved and lost with a photo table and the reading of the Book of the Dead. The “first fruits” of our pledge drive were gathered and blessed.
Meanwhile, in church school we learned about some of the Saints in the Episcopal Church, from Harriet Tubman to Florence Nightingale, and many others. We talked about the golden rule and how we are all Saints at St. Mark’s. We each made a across and wrote the names of people who we want to shout out as being Saints in our lives.
After the service we raised the flag for Native American Heritage month and yet yet another festive coffee hour hosted by the vestry.
